How to Get High-End Makeup for Less

Sometimes you get what you pay for Royals!

But not always! I firmly believe that it’s not a good deal unless you get something that’s worth a lot more for a cheaper price. Getting something “cheap for cheap” doesn’t impress me at all. When it comes to makeup, although there is great makeup available in any budget- High-end makeup is normally worth the price. Drugstore makeup is awesome, but I didn’t really fall in love with makeup until I started playing with the higher-end brands. But that still doesn’t mean I’m not looking for a  deal! Here are my tips on scoring high-end makeup for less.

Tip #1: Too La-KIT to Quit!

Makeup kits are the NUMBER ONE way to maximize your budget when purchasing high-end makeup. Stores like Sephora, Ulta and DermaStore carry kits, combination sets and palettes all the time. And the great thing about kits is it doesn’t just apply to makeup. This rule of thumb can be used for beauty products and perfume! Here’s an example of how kits can save you tons of money.

The Pretty Committee ($86 Value)

What it is:
A four-piece set that has everything you need to perk up and glow.

What it does:
Filled with Benefit’s most brilliant bestsellers, this festive set gives all complexions a perky, pretty glow. High Beam enhances complexions with a luminescent veil, while Eye Bright adds an instant pink lift to wake up the eyes. Bella Bamba face powder adds 3D brightening to the face, and Stay Don’t Stray doubles as a stay-put primer for concealers and eye shadows.

This set contains:
– 0.13 oz High Beam (reg. $26 for 0.45 oz)
– 0.28 oz Bella Bamba ($28)
– 0.33 oz Stay Don’t Stray ($26)
– 0.05 oz Eye Bright ($20)

** Items are full-size unless otherwise indicated

As you can see, this value set has a $86 value! Sephora has this set for ONLY $38 on their website!!! Just two of the three full-sized products in the kit more than cover what you pay. It’s like getting the other two items for FREE!

Tip #2 :  QVC

Everyday QVC has a Today’s Special Value (TSV). It could be in an array of items, but sometimes they have TSV’s on beauty products. Regardless of how often they offer those, you can get deals on QVC everyday! They carry several beloved high-end brands such as:

My favorite deal from QVC right now is:

Tarte The Miracle of Maracuja 8-pc Skin Smart Collection ($207 Value)

What is it: The Miracle of Maracuja eight-piece Skin Smart Color Collection is poised to change the way you feel about your skin.

Why is it different: This collection includes a full-sized version of the best-selling 100% pure maracuja oil, along with new colors, including Amused, a shimmering poppy shade for the Airblush Maracuja Blush. The power of this high-performance natural ingredient is now infused into makeup, giving you brilliant color with a boost to rejuvenate and replenish skin and lips. The collection is packed with beloved tarte products, including the clinically-proven Lights, Camera, Lashes! volumizing mascara. This collection is available in: Fair, Light, Medium, Tan & Dark!

  • 1.7-fl-oz Pure maracuja oil with dropper ($46)
  • 0.28-oz Maracuja Creaseless Concealer in Fair, Light, Medium, Tan, or Deep ($24)
  • 0.24-fl oz Lights, Camera, Lashes! Volumizing Mascara in Black ($19)
  • 0.20-oz Envoke the Smoke Eye Shadow Quad with four eye shadows in Pink Cloud, Silver Mist, Purple Fog, and Dark Ash ($25)
  • 0.19-oz Air Blush in Amused, a shimmering poppy ($25)
  • 0.12-fl-oz Maracuja Divine shine Lip Gloss in Peaceful, a nude pink ($21)
  • 0.01-oz Cashmere Waterproof Eyeliner in Black ($18)
  • Blush brush ($29)

All items are FULL-SIZE and if you bought them idividually, it would cost you over $207! QVC has it featured for $65.94!!! And the great thing about QVC is that if the products don’t work out for you (say they broke you out…), you have 30 days to return them for a full refund!

Tip # 3: Blog Sales

Scout online makeup blogs for sales. Many of the  makeup/beauty obsessed purge their collections several times a year. Often times the makeup is brand new or was only used for swatches on their blog or website. These items usually sell out fast, so you’ll have to be diligent about looking and contact the seller quickly. Make sure you have a PayPal account set up as most sellers will require you to use it for payment. You can also score FREE makeup by looking for contests being held throughout the beauty blogging world. There are many instances where the odds will be in your favor because less than 20 have entered the contest!

I hope these tips help you to expand you makeup and beauty collections. Do you have any tips for finding high-end makeup for less? Leave a comment below!
