Why not start the summer off right Royal?
I think it’s safe to say that this heat isn’t going anywhere. They’re saying we’re experiencing record breaking heat here in the U.S.! And you know what that means…less clothing and more skin! Below are a few tips on banishing dull skin just in time for the warmer months ahead!
Tip #1 : Exfoliate
Exfoliating every other day will boost your skin’s radiance and slough away the dead cells that cause dull and lifeless skin. Apply in circular motions with a washcloth all over and try an exfoliating mitt for those stubborn rough areas like knees, elbows and heels. Exfoliating before you shave will give you the smoothest results possible. I love Tree Nut’s Shea Sugar Body Scrub in the NEW Tropical Mango. It smells delicious and because it’s made of sugar and not salt, it won’t cause irritation. Pick up a jar at Walmart or Ulta for about $6.
Tip #2 : Shave at Night
Shaving at night gives you the closest shave possible. If you shave in the morning, your pores are still slightly swollen and you’ll feel prickly by nights end. Use triple blade razors to ensure you stay smooth from day until night. And always remember to shave within the first 10 minutes of getting in the shower. Wait long enough for the warm water to soften your skin, but not too long were it causes swelling. I love Noxema’s Triple Blade Disposable Razors. They’re great quality and a steal at around $4. Most of the time they have coupons attached or inside the package!
Tip #3 : Amlactin Moisturizing Body Lotion
If you have:
- Dry patches on legs, back or body
- Dry hands
- Rough heels
This lotion can help with nothing else will. Amlactin is a special formulation of 12% lactic acid neutralized with ammonium hydroxide to provide a lotion pH of 4.5-5.5. Lactic acid, an alpha-hydroxy acid, is a naturally occurring humectant for the skin. This product exfoliates and softens rough, dry skin. I recommend not applying this after you shave…It WILL sting…Trust me I know.
