What to Wear: Spring Wedding Ideas

The wedding invitations are pouring in Royals!

Love is in the air. Family, friends and co-workers want you to share in their happiness. Below are my favorite Spring wedding ideas for this year. Two of my favorite color trends right now were the perfect springboards for inspiration: Pastels and “It Color” Tangerine Tango. I’ve also included a list of DO’s and DON’Ts to keep you looking and feeling fabulous from ceremony until send-off.

Spring Wedding Ideas- Trendy

Lanvin asymmetrical cocktail dress, £1,705 // Mango draped dress, £45 // Prada high heel shoes, £520 // Sam Edelman platform heels, $172 // Mango spike shoes, £75 // Isharya 18 karat gold earrings, $435 // Stella Dot pearl jewelry, $118 // Antik Batik yellow gold jewelry, $110 // LK Designs enamel earrings, €81 // Clip earrings, €64 // Stretch jewelry, $40

Evening Elegance- Tone down a bright hue for a more formal affair by pairing it with sleek black shoes and accessories. Gold accents warm up this outfit perfectly.

Classic with a Twist- This deeper shade of Tangerine almost looks red. Side cut-outs gives this classic pleated sheath dress a modern twist. Nude heels and a chunky pearl necklace keep this outfit in the modest category.

Daytime Dazzling- I absolutely LOVE blue hues next to tangerine! The color combination is fun, festive and perfect for daytime. Heading to a tropical destination wedding? Even better!

Spring Wedding Ideas- Pastels

Tibi dress, £525 // Josie ruched dress, $330 // Reed Krakoff high heel sandals, £645 // Diane von Furstenberg ankle tie wedge, $285 // Tory Burch mid heel shoes, £220 // Chloé top handle handbag, £790 // Reed krakoff bag, €1.440 // J by Jasper Conran black clutch handbag, £25 // MICHAEL Michael Kors yellow gold jewelry, $250 // Facets jewelry, $44 // Jennifer Loiselle art deco necklace, $108 // Chanel vintage dangle earrings, $15 // Christian dior jewelry, $625 // Logo sunglasses, £247 //Illamasqua pastel nail polish, £14

Garden Goddess- This outfit is perfect for an outdoor wedding. I paired it with a wedge heel to make your stride effortless  when walking across plush grass. The loose fit will keep you cool as a cucumber and the leather bag is big enough to hold bottle water, sunscreen and bug spray. Put hair in a  romantic up-do with loose curls and pile on some arm candy to look ultra chic.

Sundown Sweetheart- This ensemble effortlessly transitions from sundown to evening with classic black accessories. As the sun goes down, don’t miss a minute of the “I DO’s” with elegant over-sized shades. Tory Birch flats keep you dancing all night long!

Two Pastels and One Nude- Pastels were made for pairing! To keep it trendy and not busy, pair two pastels with one nude. Easy, right? And remember that handbags and jewelry aren’t your only options when it comes to accessorizing. Nails count too!

DO’s & DON’Ts

DO dress accordingly. Is it an outdoor wedding? Wear loose clothing that won’t stick to your body and raise the temperature. A wedge versus a stiletto may keep you from making an embarrassing tumble across the lawn.

DON’T forget the essentials. The last thing you want to do is walk into the reception with bug bites all over your legs. Packing sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, deodorant, small fans & bottle water can make all the difference.

DO bring the couple a gift. I’ve seen several people go to a wedding without a one. Keep things proper and at least drop a gift card (even if it’s not that much!) into a greeting card. Or better yet get creative! There are tons of websites on making or finding a wedding gift for under $20.

DON’T blend in. That means of course NO WHITE (unless told to do so) or wedding colors. If you can’t find that information out before hand, that’s fine. But if you’re deciding between a couple outfits and one of them just so happens to be the same as the wedding party- skip it.

DO wear waterproof mascara if you’re a crier (for me…it depends on the wedding). A small travel pouch of Kleenex probably wouldn’t be such a bad idea either. Remember to pat, not rub! Bring powder for any touch-ups and use primers to keep make-up looking fresh all day long.

DON’T knock the singles table! Smile and have fun! You never know who you’ll meet ;-) As fabulous as you look, you’re not limited to it anyway. There may just be a hot guy in the wedding party or at the family table that can’t keep his eyes off you.
