Friday Fashion Crush: Michelle Obama

It’s Friday Royals! Kick back, enjoy your weekend and get inspired to be your very best. On the heels of the 2012 Democratic National Convention, I thought it would be fitting to make the First Lady today’s FFC! She gave a phenomenal speech and like The President said, “Reminded everyone why he was so lucky to have her.” Regardless of your political affiliation, you have to admire her as a woman. She exudes strength, compassion, intelligence and a classic style that is beyond fitting for the position that she holds. Every woman wants to be her and every man want to have someone like her by his side.

As an African American woman myself, I’m extremely proud to have such a public representation that’s accurate of so many Black women I know. Often times we are portrayed in the media as loud, uneducated, neck-poppin’, finger snappin’ baby mamas who don’t contribute to society. Every race has broad ends of the spectrum, but many need to realize that the number of phenomenal Black women contributing to a better tomorrow (for all of us) is like the grains of the sand- We’re everywhere.

That said, I applaud Michelle for her classic taste and her ability to keep herself and her family grounded. The next day after wearing a stunning gown to a state dinner, you might just catch her in a dress from Ann Taylor Loft. Never a stranger to bold colors or patterns, the First Lady pulls it off with effortless grace. Her humble spirit is truly a sight to see. So thank you Michelle for all the work you have done with military families and today’s youth. You’re a wonderful example to women everywhere. God bless you and GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

What do you think of the First Lady’s style? Do you look up to her as a role model? Leave a comment below!
